Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-26
This policy describes what data the Zondel desktop application and the zondel.net website collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. Plain English. No third-party trackers.
Website (zondel.net)
The marketing site at zondel.net is fully static. It does not use cookies, does not run analytics, and does not load any third-party resources at runtime. Cloudflare, our hosting provider, may log standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, requested path) for operational and abuse-prevention purposes; we do not access or retain that data ourselves.
Desktop application
The Zondel desktop application processes microphone audio locally on your device for noise suppression, echo cancellation, and dereverb. Your audio is never transmitted, stored, or recorded. Processing happens in real time and discards each audio frame after it is delivered to your call.
What the app collects
- An anonymous random user identifier and device identifier (random GUIDs generated on first launch and stored locally in the app's settings file).
- The timestamp of first launch and a launch counter.
- App usage events such as feature toggles, audio pipeline state changes, and crash diagnostics. These payloads do not contain audio.
Where it goes
Usage events are sent to a Zondel-operated analytics endpoint at openpanel.ciphravpn.com. This is first-party — operated by us, not a third-party tracker. We use it to understand which features are working and to prioritize bug fixes.
What we do not collect
- Your name, email address, or billing information.
- Your microphone audio or any audio recordings.
- Your contacts, files, screen contents, or anything else outside what the application explicitly handles.
- Persistent location data.
Microphone access
The application requests microphone access in order to process your voice. Audio is processed locally and never leaves your device.
Autostart
The application offers an optional setting to start automatically with Windows. This is off by default and you can toggle it from the app's settings.
Local data and uninstalling
Settings, identity GUIDs, and logs are stored in the standard Windows app-local paths used by MSIX-packaged apps. Uninstalling the application removes them.
Your choices
- You will be able to opt out of telemetry from the application's settings when this option ships.
- You can delete all local data by uninstalling the application.
- You can write to us with any privacy question or request below.
